Multimedia Resource Sharing Project

fluidIT solutions, along with Christian Council of Mozambique (CCM) and AfricaFiles, is working to increase CCM's capacity to share locally created audiovisual resources with grassroots communities in Mozambique. Our multi-faceted approach includes an online resource sharing library of multimedia content, physical distribution of CDs and DVDs, and open-air cinemas for community outreach. These activies have already begun, and our vision is to expand them through a greater distribution of content. While the initial focus is HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention, the project is designed to become a multi-sectoral, multi-lingual, multi-country platform that increases resource sharing among many development partners.

The project began when we saw the great HIV/AIDS songs, music videos and dramas CCM produces under the leadership of Dr. Bill and Karen Butt. We envisioned with them ways to share these materials more widely across Mozambique. Our model seeks to link organizations which are producing great content with grassroots organizations which can use these resources on the ground, and offer ongoing support in local communities.

We are currently seeking funding and partnerships to start a website, online community, DVD distribution centre, and network to share Portuguese HIV/AIDS materials in Lusophone Africa. The bilingual English/Portuguese website will help broaden the impact to more partners in English speaking countries. The platform can be translated to more languages as partnerships and funding allows.

We are seeking funding partners, diverse multimedia content, and a network of organizations to help bring multimedia content to local communities.
