ICTs for Development
fluidIT solutions supports the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) for development in Africa, and around the world. Here are some ways that we have done so:
- Delivering the first multimedia component of the Communication for Development course at Coady International Institute, covering audiovisual content design and production using open source software
- Conducting capacity building in online groups, blogs, and wikis for a rural African telecentre, which now uses these tools to share agricultural information and train teachers how to use computers (read more)
- Training camera and computer novices to make local-language, local-content videos for community activism and distance education (learn more)
- Helping UNDP Somalia support remittance organizations with software to tranfer money globally, while adhering to international financial regulations (more details)
We are currently working on several exciting developments:
- Multimedia storytelling to honour the victims of the Rwandan genocide, in pursuit of peace (see www.cryrwanda.com for more details)
- A collaborative multimedia resource library and offline distribution centre for HIV/AIDS, and other materials (read more)
